TVE was established in March 1980 by George Pinder specialising in alternator, starter motor and general auto electrical repairs. The business started life in premises at Tytherleigh, a small hamlet between Chard and Axminster. The business grew quickly and was moved to rented accommodation at Chard in 1982, moving again in 1990 to our current purpose built premises at Leach Road.

Initially the business concentrated on alternator, starter, and general electrical repairs. After relocating to Chard in 1983 it soon became apparent that motor vehicle were becoming more complex with the onset of ABS and engine management systems. Since Bosch were manufacturing most of these systems it made sense for TVE to buy Bosch equipment as well as receive technical training from them. This is a situation which has been ongoing ever since. We still use Bosch equipment and training, but we also possess dedicated diagnostic kit for BMW, Citroen/Peugeot, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Renault and Vauxhall.
